A word from your coach:

Mechanics, Consistency, Intensity. This is a staple in the Crossfit Level 1 course. This is important and can be explained in many different ways. This pyramid explains it in more laymen terms. As with all pyramids the top can only be built upon a wide base. The Mechanics or Safer base means being able to perform the movement properly. The Consistency or Better means being able to perform the movement even when exhausted. Finally the apex is the Intensity or Faster level. This means being able to perform the movement quickly and under heavier load. So remember, you have to be able to perform the movement slowly first before being able to to it quickly and safely. Earn the right to move quickly
