How I Use AI to Reclaim My Time and Why You Should Automate Your Life Too

How I Use AI to Reclaim My Time and Why You Should Automate Your Life Too
How I Use AI to Reclaim My Time and Why You Should Automate Your Life Too
Growing up with computers, I dreamed of a future where tech did the heavy lifting for us like Jetsons-era magic. I studied computer engineering just as the dot com bubble burst, and that reality check still sits with me today: tech is a tool, not a savior. The real win is using it to smooth out the rough edges of daily life so you can focus on what matters—training, relationships, and consistency.

In a gym, my day is on the floor coaching, moving, and staying present with members. The time I spend in front of a screen is often the least enjoyable part of the day. So I’ve started leaning into AI and automation to reclaim that time, write clearer content for you, and still be there for my family. Here’s how I’m applying that same logic to daily routines, and how you can too.

Outsourcing the 24/7 Inbox Chaos
As a business owner, there is no real off switch for emails, texts, and calls—from members, leads, and the spam gremlins. I used to answer routine questions late at night and during meals, weekends, and vacations. The fix: I trained an AI voice and message agent to handle routine tasks and route complex queries to me when a personal touch is needed. I fed it gym data like pricing, schedules, booking links, and FAQs, and it learned my tone by analyzing thousands of my past responses. Now it handles routine messages, books appointments, and only flags items that truly require a human touch. The result is less stress and more time to be with my family and in the gym.

Automating Sunday Prep Work
My Sundays used to be a long grind of prepping programming, formatting coaching software, queuing emails, and setting schedules. I spent a lot of time scripting and building back end automations. Now those administrative steps run in the background, so I don’t have to touch a keyboard on the weekend. The gym runs smoother and I walk into Monday with focus instead of a to do list avalanche.

Cleaning Up My Raw Ideas
I love writing for our community because distilling complex training topics into plain language helps everyone get it. My rough drafts used to end up rougher with formatting and layout chores. Today I write out my ideas and let AI polish the formatting. The ideas stay mine, but the final piece is clean, scannable, and easy to read.

The Game Changer: Voice-to-Text Podcast Walks
This is my favorite experiment. To write well, I need quiet time, which is rare with kids at home. I love morning walks when my mind is sharp, but typing while moving is terrible and voice tools often misfire. So I built a custom AI Voice Agent that acts like an interview partner. On a morning walk, I chat with it; it asks clarifying questions to push me to elaborate. Back home, it turns our conversation into a structured article. I finish a walk with two or three complete drafts without typing a word.

The Takeaway for Your Own Fitness & Life
Tech isn’t the perfection we imagined, but used with intention it removes friction and buys you time for what matters. If you want to protect your training and personal priorities, try these: – Set recurring calendar blocks for workouts and treat them like non negotiable appointments. – Use automated reminders for hydration and meal prep. – Leverage smart timers and tracking apps to reduce decision fatigue when you walk into the gym. Identify repetitive tasks that drain energy, delegate them to technology, and save your willpower for showing up, lifting heavy, eating well, and being present with loved ones. 🧠💪

If you want to reclaim time without losing quality, start small. Pick one routine that drains you and automate it this week. Then add another. Small wins compound into real freedom on the floor and at home.

Because the goal isn’t to work less; it’s to work smarter so you have more energy to lift, recover, and enjoy the people around you.

Keep your routines tight, your goals clear, and your tech intentional. The more friction you remove, the more room you have for the work that actually moves you forward—consistency, progress, and presence with your crew.

Stay curious, stay dedicated, and keep lifting both weights and hours of your day into things that matter.

The path is practical: use automation to protect your time, guard your health habits, and keep your focus on the things that truly matter in your training and in life.
Tailor tech to fit your life, not the other way around. Your gym schedule, your meals, your sleep routine—let automation do the repetitive parts so you can show up ready to lift, learn, and lead by example.

Automation is not a distraction; it is a teammate that clears your path so you can stay present for your people and your goals.

If you want more specifics, bring one routine to the floor this week and I will help you map it to a simple automation plan that fits your life.

Your coach is here to help you design a routine that stays with you—one that makes it easier to lift, recover, and show up every day for what truly matters.

The future of our daily grind is practical, deliberate automation that frees time for training and connection. Let us build it together.

Train deliberately, automate wisely, and keep the main thing the main thing,
